JUMO reference electrodes / diaphragm tube (201083)

Reference electrodes:
The task of reference electrodes is to supply a constant potential during potentiometric measurements. The counterpart is the potential of an indicator electrode (e.g. a pH glass electrode). Reference electrodes are equipped with a silver/silver oxide discharge system in the form of a cartridge. A 3 mol potassium chloride solution is used as a reference electrolyte. Application temperature range: between 0...90°C. As an option, the reference electrodes can also be supplied with a liquid KCI electrolyte. In this case, the application temperature is between 0...135°C. Here the maximum operating temperature of the glass electrode used has to be taken into account.

Diaphragm tubes:
Potentiometric measurements can be disturbed or falsified due to physical and/or chemical interactions between the medium to be measured and the reference system of electro-chemical probes. In such cases the use of an electrolytic key is recommended, which is established by means of a diaphragm tube. Diaphragm tubes can be made of PVDF or PTFE. The diaphragm is made of PTFE and has a 5 mm diameter.
